AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and various akali Dals are raising their voice on support of release for those Sikh detainees who completed their imprisonment in jails. This step was appreciated in Sikh circles but Sikh circles are feeling that all factions of various Akali dals should be abolished and united akali dal should be formed under the leadership of new President.

Political observers said that in the best interest of panth Sukhbir Badal should resign and new President should be elected with consent of all factions.
political observer said that after the defeat of Shiromani Akali Dal , there is no issue with present leadership.

Some anti Badal lobby questioned that akali dal badal had enjoyed in power about 10 years but they never tried to raise their voice for the release of Sikh detainees.

it may be mentioned that Prime minister Narendra Modi had also announced the release of those Sikh detainees who completed their imprisonment on the occasion of 550 birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev . but this announcement was not implemented.

Meanwhile Mr Manjit Singh Bhoma Genral Secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal (Dhindsa) said that SGPC and Akali Dal (Badal) never remembered the release of sikh detainees for 30 years. Then how did it come overnight.

He said that when Badal did not give unconditional support to Vajpayee governent in 1998.the first condition woud have been the release of sikh detainees, all sikh detainees would have been release in 1998. But even then behind the scenes story woud have been to put aside the whole senior leadership and sukhbir singh badal.

Mr bhoma further said that the behind the scene story in brief is that the humiliating defeat the Akali Dal badal in 2022 vidhan sabha elections, sukhbr singh badal had to form two committees to find out the cause of defeat.
