Violation of High Court decision to take 24 hours duty from rank four employees - Baljinder Singh

PHAGWARA:A meeting of Punjab Cooperative Society Employees Union (Grade IV) was held at Model Town Park under the chairmanship of State President Baljinder Singh in Phagwara today in which employees of Jalandhar and Kapurthala districts participated.

During the meeting the right wing demands of the union were discussed. Disclosing this here today the state president Baljinder Singh said that his main demand was to ensure the payment of monthly salary to the employees by collecting the income of the society at the Punjab level. Employee transfers should be made at the district level. Recruitment should be done at Punjab level as per requirement and the power to recruit should be with the Registrar Chandigarh. Pension should be provided by deducting funds from the salaries of the employees. Raw employee should be graded after one year. One shift 8 hours duty of rank four employees should be implemented at Punjab level. The service record of the employee should be kept complete. The election of the managing committees of the sabhas should be at the district level. In case of death of the employee while on duty, a family member should be graded and a permanent job should be arranged. He said that in spite of the direction of 8 hours duty of the High Court, 24 hours duty was forcibly taken from Sevadar cum Chowkidar which was totally wrong. He said that if these demands were ignored then a sharp struggle would be started. District President Gurdawar Singh, District Kapurthala President Lamber Singh besides Prem Chand Circle President Phillaur (Jalandhar) were present on the occasion.
