Two journalists seriously injured while covering farmers protest at Shambhu border

CHANDIGARH: Two media persons were seriously injured after being hit by tear gas shells fired by Haryana Police to disperse agitating farmers at Shambhu border today.

Chandigarh based senior Journalist Neel Bhalinder Singh was aken to hospital profusely bleeding when a tear gas shell fell on his head. He was rescued from scene by farmers and taken to hospital.

Satinder Chauhan working for a national TV channel was also hit by tear gas shell and his hands and legs were injured. He was also taken to a private hospital. Both jurnalists are out of danger.

Reports said that about two dozen farmers are also injured in the lathi charge by Haryana police. Haryana police has also fired rubber bullets on farmers injuring many of them.
