FATEHGARH SAHIB: Paying homage to the unparalleled martyrdom of the younger Sahibzadas of the Tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji—Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh (9 years), Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh (7 years)—and Mata Gujri Ji, the District Akali Jatha Fatehgarh Sahib and the Youth Akali Dal, under the directions of Shiromani Akali Dal President S. Sukhbir Singh Badal Ji, organised a two-day ‘Dastaran Da Langar’ at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, as has been done every year, to offer their tributes.
This special initiative was organised under the ‘Meri Dastar, Meri Shaan’ campaign under the leadership of Youth Akali Dal President Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer, with the primary objective of connecting Sikh youth with their religious identity, history, and the great Sikh heritage. The camp was inaugurated with an Ardas by the Head Granthi of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Bhai Harpal Singh Ji.
As every year, lakhs of devotees from across the country and abroad reached Sri Fatehgarh Sahib to pay their respects. During the ‘Dastaran Da Langar’, more than 500 devotees—including children, youth, and elderly—were tied free dastars and were educated about the importance and significance of the turban.
