The Ghallughara Diwas will be observed in memory of those killed during the operation blue star on June 6

AMRITSAR: The ghallughara diwas will observe in memory of those killed during the operation blue star at sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib , Akal Takht and 37 other historical Gurdwaras in June 1984.

The Shiromani Gurdwara parbandhak committee will start akhand sahib path on June 4 on eve of 40th anniversary of operation blue star and a gurmat samagam will be held after bhog of Akhand path at Akal Takht.

Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami president SGPC has appealed to the Sangat that according to the order of Akal Takht Sahib, black turbans should be decorated from June 4 to 6 and Gurbani should be chanted in a peaceful manner on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Ghallughara at Akal Takht Sahib.

According to the order of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is conducting martyrdom ceremonies on June 6 at Sri Akal Takht Sahib as well as in different historical Gurdwara Sahibs. Regarding the arrangements for these events, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami held a meeting with the officials of Shiromani Committee at the its head office here today and gave necessary guidelines.

During this conversation, Advocate Dhami said that the first week of June 1984 is unforgettable for the Sikh community. The wounds given to the Sikhs in June 1984 by the then Congress government of the country heal every year. This year, the Sikh community is observing the 40th annual commemoration of the June 1984 Ghallughara, during which martyrdom ceremonies will be held in all the Gurdwaras as per the order of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

He said that Ghallughara Day is an extremely emotional time for Sikhs, which it is the duty of the nation to celebrate according to its spirit.

On this occasion, the junior vice president of the Shiromani Committee. Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, General Secretary Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, Senior Member Raghbir Singh Saharanmajra, Member Harjap Singh Sultanwind, Bhai Ajam Singh Prakhya, Secretary Pratap Singh, Sukhminder Singh, Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Mr. Preetpal Singh, Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib. Bhagwant Singh Dhangera, Deputy Secretary. Kuldeep Singh Rode, Mr. Gurcharan Singh Kuhala, s. Jaswinder Singh Jassi, Gurnam Singh, Balwinder Singh Khairabad, Manjit Singh, Mr. Shahbaz Singh, Mr. Harbhajan Singh Wakta, Sukhbir Singh, Superintendent Nishan Singh etc. were present.
