PHILLAUR: The festival of Easter is a celebration of life, hope and love, and we need to defend these values even more vigorously in today’s times, said Phillaur legislative assembly incharge Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary on Sunday while addressing an august gathering at the Church of Almighty God in village Tooran here.
He extended his greetings to the people on the pious occasion and prayed for their well-being, happiness and prosperity.
Addressing the devotees at the church, former Punjab Youth Congress President Vikram Chaudhary said that Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for the sins of humanity and to save humankind.
He stated that Lord Christ’s life teaches us to love others, be compassionate and work to alleviate suffering from the world, adding that in today’s times, when there are evil forces raising their head to disturb peace and communal harmony, the message of Jesus becomes even more important.
Bishop Gurnam Dass, Chairman Market Committee Phillaur Makhan Singh Khaira, Councillor Yashpal Ginda, Happy Johal Apra, former Tooran Sarpanch B K Sharma and Sukhram Mau Sahib were among those present on the occasion.
