Talks between Punjab farmers and central government failed, farmers to march to Delhi on Feb 13

CHANDIGARH: The talks between the Punjab farmers organisations and the center government to find a solution to demands of farmers have failed and farmer leaders have announced to start their march to Delhi on February 13 at 10 AM.

The meeting was held in Chandigarh between leaders of Samyuk Kisan Morcha and three union ministers Piyush Goyal, Arjun Munda and deputy home minister. The meeting continued for six hours. 

Sarwan Singh Pandher said that center government was not ready to accpet ther demands and only passing the buck. He said that they were upset with the attitude of the center government. The farmer leaders said that they had also objectet to laying concrete blocks and nails on roads. The center governemnt is indulging in arrest of farmers in BJP ruled states.

Jagjit Singh Dallewal said tha the center government has offered to form a comittee for MSP for crops but farmer leaders rejected the proposal. He said that thye were left with no alternative but to continue theor agitation.

Dallewal said that what they are demanding is not a demand but a commitment already given by center. We are just demanding to implement. He said that government was not ready on loan waiver of farmers whereas center had waived off 14000 lakh crore of corporate houses.
