Sub-committee formed by Akal Takht Jathedar asked Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to give an appointment till March 13, 2024

AMRITSAR: The sub-committee formed by Akal Takht Sahib regarding the cases of Bhai Amritpal Singh and other Sikh detainees in Dibrugarh Jail of Assam for the last one year has asked the Chief Minister of Punjab Mr. Bhagwant Mann to give an appointment till March 13, 2024.

The meeting of the five-member sub-committee today was chaired by the junior vice-president of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Under the leadership of Gurbakhsh Singh Khalsa, the Shiromani Committee office was held here today.

In the meeting, members of the sub-committee, General Secretary of Shiromani Committee Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, member Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, Sikh thinker Ajmer Singh and Dr. Sukhpreet Singh was also present.

In the meeting which lasted for about 3 hours, a long discussion was held regarding the cases of Singhs detained in the central jails of Dibrugarh and Amritsar.

Talking to the media after the meeting. Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa said that Bhai Amritpal Singh and his fellow Singhs were forced to go on hunger strike in Dibrugarh Jail and Central Jail Amritsar due to the violation of the human rights of Singhs detained in Dibrugarh Jail and the circumstances created due to the conspiracies being created.

He said that the families of Singhs detained at Amritsar are also on hunger strike, but due to the government's negative attitude towards it, there is a lot of anger among the Sikhs.

Gurbakhsh Singh Khalsa said that in today's meeting, the Chief Minister of Punjab Mr. Bhagwant Mann has been asked to give time till March 13, 2024 so that the demands of the detained Singhs can be met.

He said that if the Chief Minister of Punjab does not give time till March 13, 2024 or if no meaningful response is given to resolve the issue even after giving time, then the meeting of the sub-committee will be held on March 14, 2024 at 2 o'clock to discuss the next program.
