Students Present Shades of Patriotism during Rehearsals of I Day Celebrations

NAWANSHAHR:To mark the 75th anniversary of Independence, students from various schools of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar District presented the colours of patriotism through their performance on Day 1 at local ITI Ground.

Lauding the efforts being put in by the students and their teachers to prepare a Cultural bonanza and grand PT show for the National Festival, Assistant Commissioner (Under Trainee) Dr Gurleen Sidhu said that about 2000 students from 18 schools have been sweating in ITI Ground with a patriotic fervour.

She said that about 9 to 10 schools have been participating in the grand PT show while 8 to 9 schools' patriotic and Cultural items have been monitored for finalising them tomorrow.

She said that cultural items have Bhangra, Gidha, Martial Art Gatka and other choreography and action based patriotic songs. Apart from that Tableaus based on the development of public oriented schemes would also be the part of the I Day celebrations.

Police contingents including Males, females, Homeguard, NCC and NSS volunteers and school band would also be the part of the Grandeur March Past, she added.

Labour, Tourism & Cultural and Investment Promotion Departments' Minister Ms Anmol Gagan Mann would be the chief guest on 15th August, said Assistant Commissioner.
