Students Portray Paintings and Slogans having patriotic fervour at District Level Competition at Khatkar Kalan

NAWANSHAHR:In the continuation of a series of events scheduled under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark the 75th anniversary of Independence, a district level Poster making and Salogan writing competition was held at Shaheed e Azam S. Bhagat Singh Memorial and Museum Khatkar Kalan, today.

As many as 56 Students from the Middle and Secondary Classes categories took part in the competition with great patriotic zest.. Portraying the message of nationalism in their paintings and Slogans, they displayed colourful posters and Slogans pertaining to our National Heros, Bharat Mata and known quotes of the legendary freedom fighters.

ADC (G) Rajiv Verma who inaugurated the Poster making and slogan writing competition said that the competition was aimed at making these students aware of the great freedom fighters and their struggle and contribution towards independence. He said that the ideas canvassed on the paper by the students are much more impressive than our expectation and thought. He added that the first two achievers of both the competitions would be given a chance to participate in state level competition going to be held in the coming days.

He said the students who excelled in the competition included Kavita from Government Senior Secondary School Pharala and Inderjit Kaur from Government Senior Secondary School Mallu Pota in Postar Making in Middle Class category while Diskhsa from Government Senior Secondary School Herian and Sania from Government High School Chakdana in Slogan writing. In the secondary classes category, Komal From Government Adarsh Senior Secondary School Khatkar Kalan bagged first position in Postar making while Jatin Chumber from Government Senior Secondary School stood second. In Salogan writing competition for secondary classes, Tania from Government Senior Secondary School Herian declared first while Ramandeep Ria from Government High School Khatkar Kalan second.

Deputy DEO Rajesh Kumar while applauding the staff deputed to conduct the competition said that teachers Kulwinder Lal, Hari Singh, Mahinder Singh, Sulakhan Singh and Talwinder Singh gave the judgement while District Nodal Officers Hitesh Sehgal and Subhash Salhvi arranged the competition.
