AMRITSAR: In a tragic incident atlesr six Covid patients on oxygen support have died in a private hospital here due to shortage of Oxygen early this monrning.
The incident has triggered protests by the relatives of the patients. They blamed the hospital and health authorities for the tragedy. The management of private hospital Neelkanth multi-speciality hospital accused the district administration for the obstruction in Oxygen supply.
The hospital owner alleged that Deputy Commissioner had asked the Oxygen plants to supply O2 on priority to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital Amritsar. The police was deplyed at oxygen plants to ensure private hospitals are not given the Oxygen.
O.P.Soni Medical education minister who belongs to Amritsar blamed the hospital authorities for lapse. He said that if hospital had admitted covid patients, it was also their duty to arrange oxygen.
