AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Akali Dal has once again nominated Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami as its candidate for the presidency of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
The annual election for the SGPC President is scheduled to take place on Monday at Teja Singh Samundri Hall, within the Sri Harmandir Sahib complex .
The decision to re-nominate Adv. Dhami was finalized after consultations with SGPC members. Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal made the official announcement, reaffirming the party’s confidence in Dhami’s leadership and service to the Sikh community.
After a meeting with the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee members for the annual general election of the office bearers of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami thanked the Guru Sahib and thanked the Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal for re-announcing his name for the post of president.
Advocate Dhami said that with the blessings of the Guru Sahib and the support of the members, he has been serving for the past 4 years.
He said that while it is a matter of pride for him to have the party leadership re-reveal trust in him, it is also an increase in his responsibilities. He said that with the blessings of the Guru Sahib, he will always strive to represent the Panthic sentiments.
