AMRITSAR: Kathavachak Bhai Palwinder Singh and Sewadar Bhai Harwinder Singh have been suspended, while the services of Granthi Bhai Kulwinder Singh, who was serving on a temporary basis, have been terminated. Along with this, the manager Pargat Singh has been warned and changed.

Action has been taken against the guilty employees for violating the etiquette and respect for the Congress leader during his visit to Gurdwara Baba Buddha Sahib Ji Ramdas and going against the decision of the Shiromani Committee. Giving information through an official press statement issued by the office, Secretary of the Shiromani Committee Partap Singh said that an investigation was conducted on the instructions of the President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami regarding the violation of etiquette during the visit of the Congress leader to Gurdwara Baba Buddha Sahib Ji Ramdas in the past, and action has been taken against the guilty after receiving the report today.

SGPC must get right

It is undesirable to raise any controversy over presenting Siropa to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He was not in any way involved in anti-Sikh riots and Congress party has apologised for the operation blue star done by Indira Gandhi. SGPC must come out of shallow mindset and not involve politics in religion.

In this, Kathavachak Bhai Palwinder Singh and Sewadar Bhai Harwinder Singh have been suspended, while the services of Granthi Bhai Kulwinder Singh, who was serving on a temporary basis, have been terminated. Along with this, the manager Pargat Singh has been warned and changed.

Pratap Singh said that the investigation report has revealed that the Congress leaders had gone inside the designated fence in the court of Gurdwara Sahib, which is a direct violation of etiquette.

He said that a specific order is also mandatory to go to this designated place and apart from the granthi, sevadars and related employees performing the service inside, no outsider can go inside the fence.

Apart from this, while giving siropa to Congress leaders inside the court, the decision taken by the Interim Committee in the past has also been violated. According to this decision of the Shiromani Committee, no VIP (special person) can be given siropa inside the court. In view of these two reasons, action has been taken against the employees on the basis of the investigation report.
