AMRITSAR: Former SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur was snubbed by SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami advocate when she raised accusing finger on Badal family for lowering the prestige of SAD and SGPC and highlighted the issue of 'Lifafa Culture' by Badals. It is recalled Badals always send the name of SGPC president in an envelop for endorsement by SGPC house.
Bibi Jagir Kaur was speaking in the general house of SGPC called to discuss the Sikh Gurdwara (Amendment) Bill passed by Punjab Vidhan Sabha to allow free to air telecast of Gurbani from Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar. Bini Jagir Kaur though supported the SGPC on issue of opposing the amendment bill but she questioned the SAD leadership for maintaining silence over the issue. She also accused SAD leaders for compromising statrus of Akal Takht.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that bill passed by Vidhan Sabha was an attack on Sikhs and shall be countered by all Sikh organisations. She said that it was matter of concern that SGPC had failed to obey the order of Akal Takht on issue of Gurbani telecast. She tried to present a resolution in the house but she was interupted by Dhami. He told Bibi she cant present any resolution and it was his prerogative to present any resolution in the house.
The SGPC stopped the live telecast of general house proceedings and Bibi was persuaded to sit down. The members loya to Badal family also snubbed Bibi Jagir Kaur for criticising SAD and she was reminded that she also enjoyed the power under SAD government.
