SGPC members under the leadership of Advocate Dhami gave demand letter to Jathedar Akal Takht

AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has taken a strong  notice of  descreation  of Guru Granth Sahib during the marriage of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

A delegation of SGPC led by Advocate  Harjinder  Sibfh Dhami  submitted  a  demand  letter  to Akal Takht  Jathedar Giani Harpreet  Singh .

Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Dhami, President of the SGPC, said that Guru Granth Sahib is the deity of the Sikh community and every Sikh pays the highest respect to the holy Gurbani. but  during  the marriage ceremony of Bhagwant Singh Mann, the vehicle carrying Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is stopped for search at his official residence, which is an insult to the status and respect of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

He said that the viral video on social media has hurt Sikh sentiments in this regard. He said that it was even more tragic that this was happening at the residence of the Chief Minister of the state as it was the responsibility of the Chief Minister to be committed for the promotion and respect of every religion. It is his responsibility to respect the religious sentiments of all religions and to respect and value religious texts.
