SGPC has released Rs. 25 crore for arrears of salaries of staff of educational institutions

AMRITSAR: About Rs. 25 crore has been released from the arrears of salaries of the staff of the educational institutions functioning under the management of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.
The President of the SGPC ; Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami handed over a cheque of Rs. 13 crore 63 lakh to the heads of various schools and colleges.

Speaking on the occasion Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that due to non-payment of SC scholarships by Corona and the government, many educational institutions under the management of the SGPC were facing financial crisis due to which the salaries of the staff were in arrears in the past. He said that the salaries of the staff of 29 colleges and 44 schools under the aegis of the SGPC were outstanding, out of which Rs. 8 crore 72 lakh 12 thousand has been paid to the staff of 9 colleges. Similarly 4 crore 91 lakh 53 thousand has been paid to the staff of 19 schools. The SGPC President said that the cheque for the salaries of the remaining schools and colleges were also ready and would be handed over to the educational institutions soon. He appealed to the principals to pay special attention to the enrollment of children in their educational institutions and make efforts to make the institutions self reliant.

On this occasion the junior vice president of the Shiromani Committee Principal Surinder Singh, intimate member S. Gurinderpal Singh Gora, S. Balwinder Singh Weinpuin, S. Harjap Singh Sultanwind, Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal, S. Surjit Singh Bhitewad, S. Avtar Singh Riya, S. Gurnam Singh Jassal, Additional Secretary Sukhminder Singh, Deputy Director Bibi Satwant Kaur, Incharge S. Karaj Singh and principals of various colleges and schools were present.
