Secretary Mandi board visits mandis-farmers and artiyas express great satisfaction over procurement process

KAPURTHALA:Secretary Mandi Board Ravi Bhagat today visited the grain markets in Kapurthala and Phagwara to review the ongoing paddy procurement process as it was a challenge to purchase the paddy in view of the covid epidemic.

Today at new grain market in kapurthala, he said that the adequate arrangements made by the Punjab Government and Mandi board  has ease out the procurement process as more than 33.04 MT paddy has already been procured in the state.
 
He said that the mandi board has provided more than 10 lakh 8 thousand passes to the farmers to avoid any kind of rush in mandis to maintain social distancing.
 Secretary also have a words with the farmers and representatives of artiyas and rice shellers , who were in all praise for the Punjab government efforts.
 
He also hailed the district administration efforts as the district leads in payment against the procured paddy across the state with Rs. 174 crore.
He also said that to facilitate the farmers, the Punjab Government would procure the paddy till November 30.
 
Prominent amongst present on the occasion included DFSC Geeta Bhishambhu, DMO Arvinder singh, President artiyas association Rajinder Kaura, President Rice miller association Davinderbir singh chahal.
