CHANDIGARH : Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) women's wing patron and former Member of Parliament, Bibi Paramjit Kaur Gulshan, and the party's Women's wing President Bibi Harjit Kaur Talwandi have given a one-month ultimatum to Bhagwant Maan government to fulfill their promise of giving Rs. 1000 to women within one month.
Slamming the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, which came to power in Punjab by making several false promises, both the leaders said that if the Mann government fails to fulfill their promise, which topped their political manifesto, then the wing will do Gehrao of AAP MLAs.
In a statement issued here, Bibi Paramjit Kaur Gulshan said that Bhagwant Mann's government has been in power for more than six months, but so far not a single promise made to the people of Punjab during the elections has been fulfilled.
She said that AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal had promised to give monthly financial aid of Rs. 1000 to every woman above 18 years of age during the assembly elections but now the AAP government has refused to give the same and has certainly betrayed the people of Punjab.
The Maan government is spending the hard-earned money of the people of Punjab on advertisements, whereas this money should be spent on the development of the state, added Bibi Paramjit Kaur Gulshan.
Echoing the same, Bibi Harjit Kaur Talwandi said that if the Punjab government does not give Rs 1, 000 to the women of Punjab within a month, then the party will launch a large-scale protest against the government.
She also appealed to the women of Punjab to participate in this protest and said that Bhagwant Maan is running his government on lies. Earlier during his visit to Germany, Bhagwant Mann had told a big lie to the people of Punjab about the plan of BMW Group to establish additional manufacturing operations in Punjab, which was later denied by the company.
