Punjab farmers postpone 'Dilli Chalo' march for two days, blame center for killing of youth

CHANDIGARH: The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-political) comprising over 32 farmer organisations of Punjab and Haryana has postponed the 'Dilli Chalo' march for days after the death of a Punjab youth in firing by Haryana police at Khanauri border.

The Punjab farmers are camping at Shabhu and khanauri borders with Haryana and trying to march to Delhi. The Haryana police was continuesly throwing teargas shells on the farmers and allegedly opened fire today killing a 21 year old youth Shubhkaran Singh of Ballowal village in Bathinda district.

Swaran Singh Pandher coordinator of the agitation said that Haryana police has entered the Punjab territory and kidnapped a youth. The policemen broke the legs of youth and throw him back in Punjab area. He said that they have decided to stop Delh march for two days and new programme will be announced after two days.

Meanwhile, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, farmer leader was admitted in Rajinder Hospital after he feld uneasiness. He is being rreated for stress symptoms.
