PUNJAB NEWS EXPRESS | February 14, 2024 08:33 PM

CHANDIGARH: Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee held a meeting with the workers and office bearers of Bathinda at Maur today.

Talking to those assembled, the PPCC Chief said – “I extend my heartfelt respect to all the dedicated workers who have gathered here today, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to our cause. The people of Bathinda have shown immense solidarity with us, standing firm through thick and thin, and for that, we are truly grateful. It is imperative that we stay steadfast on the path we have embarked upon, while upholding the highest standards of decorum and integrity.”

Further adding on to the same, Raja Warring said – “In the current political landscape, it is disheartening to witness individuals gaining traction through crass messaging. But we continue keeping our head down and put in genuine efforts to safeguard the prospects of Punjab. The tenure of the Aam Aadmi Party has regressed Punjab by 25 years, with their misguided policies and schemes. Instead of addressing pertinent issues, they have resorted to mere rhetoric and false promises.”

Talking about the work done by the Congress, Raja Warring expressed – “Under our leadership, substantial steps were taken to alleviate the burdens of our farmers, including the waiver of loans for over 5 lakh farmers. Let it be known that Dr. Manmohan Singh's government waived off a staggering 72, 000 crore for the benefit of our agrarian community. The plight of our farmers cannot be overlooked. They are the backbone of our nation, yet they are being subjected to oppression and neglect by the ruling powers. We stand in solidarity with them and demand justice for their rightful grievances.”

While expressing his solidarity to the farmers, the PPCC chief added – “It is appalling to see Punjabi individuals aligning themselves with parties like BJP that work against the interests of our state and its people. The Modi-led government's disregard for the welfare of our farmers is evident in the tragic loss of over 700 lives during the farmer’s protest. Despite promises made by various governments, the rights of our farmers remain unfulfilled.”

He further added – “The work and ideas of the Congress are clear as Shri Rahul Gandhi ji has assured of implementing MSP in accordance with the Swaminathan Commission, and we remain committed to delivering on this promise once elected. It is essential that policies are made for the farmers of Punjab as the current political climate is hostile towards Punjab's interests, with even the AAP in Punjab aligning itself with the BJP. We must remain vigilant against such alliances that undermine our state's progress.”

Concluding his address to the party workers and office bearers, Raja Warring said – “We will continue to engage with grassroots workers and communities to strengthen our foundation and secure victory in the upcoming elections. As the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, I pledge to tirelessly work for the betterment of Punjab and its people. Whether it's standing in solidarity with our protesting farmers or advocating for the rights of our citizens, our commitment remains unwavering.”
