CHANDIGARH: Today, the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee held comprehensive tractor rallies known as the 'Kisaani Bachaao March, ' as a testament to their unwavering support for the ongoing farmers' protest at the borders of Haryana.

The ‘Kisaani Bachaao March’ was organized across the state of Punjab. All party workers, office bearers, and citizens of the state became a part of the statewide movement to show solidarity with the farmers protesting for their basic rights at the borders of Haryana. The collective strength of the state of Punjab was evident with a huge number of people coming forward to peacefully demonstrate their unwavering support to the farming community of the state.

The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee has persistently demonstrated its solidarity with the farmers stationed at the Haryana borders through statewide protests, solemn candlelight vigils in memory of fallen farmers, and the formal lodging of grievances against Haryana's Home Minister, Anil Vij, for the injustices endured by the protesting farmers. Previously, the Punjab Congress established a dedicated legal aid helpline (8283835469) to extend pro bono legal assistance to all participants in the protests.

Addressing the attendees of the tractor march in Jandiala, PPCC Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring remarked, "I extend my gratitude to all those who have united today to advocate for the farmers of Punjab. Agriculture and the farming community constitute the bedrock of Punjab's economy, necessitating our unequivocal support for our farmers."

He further articulated, "It is disconcerting that despite Punjab's historical allegiance to the nation, the central government persists in actions contrary to the interests of the state and its populace, particularly the farming community."

Reflecting on the farmers' protest, Raja Warring emphasized, "The impediment of our passage to the capital, where we merely seek to assert our rights, is untenable. Punjab sustains the nation, yet the policies of the BJP-led central government threaten our very livelihoods. Hence, it is imperative that we persist in our peaceful demonstrations, ensuring our solidarity with Punjab's farmers while upholding law and order."

Raja Warring also held discussions with farmers and vowed unwavering support from Punjab Congress in any required aspect. He urged the political leaders and office bearers of the party to also work with the farmers and visit villages in order to be of any help possible to the ‘ann daata’ of the nation. He said – “Even though the farmer unions have requested no political involvement in the protest, we will continue our work at the back end in order to ensure all required support is received by the farmers. Therefore, I have urged all those involved with the Congress to stand by the farmers and be available for any needed help.”

Concluding his remarks, he affirmed, "Even amidst adversity, the farmers' intent was peaceful protest, yet they encountered brute force. We shall exhibit to the central government our steadfast commitment to peaceful advocacy, confident that we shall prevail and secure our rights. This tractor march is a testament to our unwavering support for Punjab's farmers and the state itself."
