Demands to register FIR against Haryana HM Anil Viz
CHANDIGARH: A delegation comprising eminent leaders from the Punjab Congress convened a protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party, urging the initiation of FIRs against Haryana's Home Minister, Anil Vij, in front of the BJP's Haryana state headquarters today.

Addressing the gathering during the protest, President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, asserted – “It is imperative for the pledges made by the Modi-led BJP administration during the initial farmers' protest to be honored. Treating the 'ann daata' of our nation worse than terrorists is unconscionable. This Modi government has regrettably exacerbated the nation's condition to a degree reminiscent of circumstances witnessed in Pakistan.”

Expounding on the farmers' protest, the PPCC Chief remarked – “Our nation stands alone in witnessing the disruption of peaceful protests through such egregious employment of force. How can the suppression of a peaceful demonstration be justified through the use of drones and firearms? This constitutes an abuse of power by the BJP-led administration and constitutes a stark instance of police brutality.”

Responding to queries concerning the farmers' desire to enter Delhi, Raja Warring queried – “Why are farmers being barred from entering Delhi via tractors? How does the utilization of a tractor become contentious? The government persists in exploiting our farmers and subsequently labeling them as terrorists. Is this equitable?”

He added further – “Regrettably, it took the sacrifice of over 700 farmers before this despotic BJP administration decided to suspend the three contentious farm laws. Even then, the suspension has not culminated in either the repeal of the laws or the fulfillment of other assurances. While huge debts of corporate giants are waived for the government's benefit, the debts of farmers become a matter of contention for the central government. The Modi-led BJP government has only worked to help those billionaires who have businesses all around the world while they continue to work against our farmers and MSME owners who contribute to the betterment of the nation. If the same amount of debt waived off for corporate giants was waived off for our farmers, our economy would have benefitted immensely, but Narendra Modi continues to work only for his friends and not the nation.”

The PPCC Chief concluded – “We have congregated here not as a political entity, but as Punjabis. We are staging demonstrations across the state to combat the abuse of power by the BJP against our farmers. How can they authorize police brutality against farmers within the confines of Punjab? Manohar Lal Khattar and Anil Vij are merely executing the directives of Narendra Modi, and we shall persist in our protest against such despotic political figures.”

The protest by the Punjab Congress was spearheaded by PCC Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and saw the presence of senior leaders such as Working President Bharat Bhushan Ashu, former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhathal, former Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu, former MLA Pawan Aadhia, former MLA Hardial Singh Kambhoj, former MLA Rupinder Ruby, Rupinder Singh Raja Gill, Chairman OBC Cell Rajbaksh Kambojh, Punjab Youth Congress President Mohit Mohindra, and NSUI Punjab President Isherpreet Singh Sidhu. Subsequently, the leaders were detained by the police at Sector 11 police station, where they continued to protest against the unjust and inequitable BJP government.
