AMRITSAR: On the sacred occasion of the birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann paid obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib and prayed before the Almighty for peace, progress, and prosperity in the state.
After paying obeisance at the Gurudwara Sahib, the Chief Minister said, “With utmost devotion and respect, I bowed my head before the eternal Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and prayed that every step taken by our government be dedicated to making Punjab the leading state of the country and ensuring the welfare of its people.”
Extending greetings to all Punjabis on the occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Parkash Purab, the Chief Minister said he prayed for further strengthening of communal harmony, peace, and brotherhood in the state. He added that not only Sikhs but every Punjabi receives divine blessings at this sacred place. Bhagwant Singh Mann further said that on this auspicious day, lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad are paying obeisance at the holy shrine.
He urged that keeping in view the sentiments of the devotees, the Union Home Ministry should immediately initiate the process of reopening the corridor so that devotees can have darshan of the sacred site sanctified by the footsteps of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Bhagwant Singh Mann added that devotees from India return within just four hours after visiting Kartarpur Sahib, hence there seems no logical reason to keep the corridor closed adding that since a jatha of Sikh devotees has already travelled to Pakistan, there should be no delay in reopening the Kartarpur Corridor either.
