Punjab CM mourns death of veteran Journalist Kamaljit Dhaliwal

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday condoled the demise of veteran journalist Kamaljit Singh Dhaliwal, who passed away in Patiala yesterday after a brief illness.

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister described Kamaljit Singh Dhaliwal as a true professional and a fine human being committed to the ethics of journalist, who discharged his duties fearlessly to uphold the freedom of press.

Notably, Dhaliwal started his journalistic career with Indian Express at Chandigarh and later he worked as coordinator for Patiala where he trained several budding journalists. Afterwards, he joined the Times of India and worked there for some years.

Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, relatives and admirers, Captain Amarinder prayed to the Almighty to give courage to them to bear their loss in this hour of grief and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Raveen Thukral also mourned the passing away of Kamaljit Singh Dhaliwal. He recalled Dhaliwal’s outstanding services as a fine journalist, which he said would be always remembered by the journalist fraternity.
