Preneet Kaur hands over Ex-gratia grant worth Rs18 Lakh from CM relief fund to the families of March 29 Thapar Chowk accident victims

PATIALA: Member of Parliament from Patiala, Mrs Preneet Kaur on Sunday reiterated the Punjab government's solidarity with farmers in their fight against the three anti farm laws, while handing over cheques of ex-gratia grant worth Rs. 18 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to the families of the victims who were killed/got injured in a tragic accident taken place on March 29 at Thapar University Chowk in Patiala, while they were expressing solidarity by protesting against centre's anti farm laws.
Reiterating the firm commitment of Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government, the Patiala MP said that Punjab Government would always stand with the families of the protesting farmers who had lost their lives on the borders of Delhi by extending them all possible help. Apart from this, the Punjab government has stood by the farmers from day one in their struggle and had even taken special initiative demanding repeal of the black laws by passing a resolution against them in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
The Patiala MP shared her condolences with the families of the three victims that had lost their lives in the tragic accident and also handed over cheques of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of 66-year-old Inderjit Singh, a resident of Ranjit Nagar, Patiala, 16-year-old boy Paramvir Singh, a resident of Inderpura and 2-year-old Yash, a resident of Ekta Nagar. She also gave cheques of Rs. 1 lakh each to Gurpreet Singh of Ranjit Nagar, Rahul of Bharat Nagar and Renu Bala of Ekta Nagar who were injured in this accident.
Expressing sympathy with them, Preneet Kaur said that "I pray to God to give strength to the bereaved families in their time of grief and also wish healthy life to the injured."
Among others present were Mr. Sanjeev Sharma Bittu, Mayor of the Municipal Corporation, Mr. Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, SDM Mr. Charanjit Singh, Tehsildar Mr. Ranjit Singh and family members of the victims.
