Powercom JE booked for fraud

NAKODAR: The Nakodar city police have booked a junior engineer of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (powercom) on the charge of fraud.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Jatindar Kumar said that the accused has been identified as Pardip KumarTiwarri son of Vishav Bandhu a resident of Mohalla Jain Nakodar and posted as junior engineer(JE) at sub- officer Parjian Kalan under Mehat Pur sub division of the Powercom.

Additional Superintending Engineer Nakodar city division of Powercom Gurpreet Singh Purewal complained to the senior superintendent of police Jalandhar(rural) that the accused was posted as JE in an office of the Powercom at Nakodar in 2005.The department conducted a written test for promotion and a list of pass candidates was prepared.

Purewal said in his complained that documents submitted by the accused for promotion were inquired by him and SHO anti -power theft Jalandhar and were found forged and fake entries were made in his service book regarding test examination. The name of accused was not included in list of pass candidates and his promotion was cancelled amount paid was recovered.

The complaint said thus the accused committed a fraud with the department and submitted fake documents and made wrong entries in his service

Nakodar city station house officer inquired complaint and found charges correct and submitted his report to SSP who sought district attorney’s opinion who recommended registration of a case against erring JE and SSP ordered registration of a case.

SHO said that a case under sections 420(cheating) and 468 and 471(fraud) of the IPC has been registered against Pardeep Kumar.
