People should get tested quickly to prevent high death rate - Collector

KAPURTHALA:Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Smt. Deepti Uppal has said that the people should cooperate with the administration teams to check the high death rate in the district, so that the corona can be tested and prevented from spreading.
Speaking to the people during the FaceBook Live today, the Deputy Commissioner said that the CSR in the district. (Case fatality rate) is very high. She said that there have been 83 deaths in the district so far this is a matter of concern and 1535 have been found positive so far out of which 409 are active cases at present.
The deputy commissioner said that the main reason for the high death rate is not getting the test done on time by the people or getting admitted to the hospital at the very last moment. She said that most of the deaths occurred in the elderly and people suffering from serious diseases.
She said that more than 60 teams have been formed on behalf of the district administration, which are going from village to village collecting samples of people and .The sampling process is being monitored privately by Respective Sub Divisional Magistrates and other senior officials. D ç also said that most of the positive cases are coming up with no symptoms due to which it is spreading more.
The deputy commissioner appealed to the people not to take this pandemic lightly as it is not yet vaccinated and prevention is the biggest cure. He strongly condemned the spread of rumors and said that police cases are being filed against such others by the district administration.
