LOHIAN: Activists of Pendu Mazdoor Union on Tuesday staged a dharna in front of the block development and panchayat officer for their demands and submitted a memorandum.
Addressing a protest rally union leaders said that the government has failed to implement its promises made during the run-up to assembly elections. They said the government has issued a police letter in 2001 for giving five marla plots to landless rural poor which was not implemented in the right way and many could not take advantage of this policy letter. Leaders said that SAD-BJP ruled for ten years but did not implement its poll promise of giving plots and now congress is ruling after winning elections on the promise of giving plots to rural poor but not implementing its promises.

They alleged that power bills of the mazdoors were exempted by the previous government but after Captain came to power the government imposed a condition that those consumers who will consume more than 400 units of power will have to pay the bill. They demanded that power bills of khet mazdoors should be exempted.
