On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, lakhs of devotees paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib

AMRITSAR: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the first Guru, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, lakhs of devotees paid obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and expressed their devotion to the Guru Sahib.

On this occasion, extraordinary jaloo were decorated at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Gurdwara Baba Atal Rai Sahib Ji, which the devotees had darshan. Deepmala was also lit at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Akal Takht Sahib and other Gurdwaras.

Meanwhile, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee performed the Bhog of Sri Akhandpath Sahib at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall. On this occasion, the divine Gurbani Kirtan was performed by the Jatha of Hazuri Raagi Bhai Gurdev Singh of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib. Bhai Prem Singh performed the Ardas and the Holy Hukamnama was recited by Granthi Singh Sahib of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib Giani Parvinderpal Singh.

While discussing the life of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, he said that the teachings of Guru Sahib are life-enlightening for the entire humanity. Guru Sahib broke the barriers of high and low, caste and class and united the people in the fight for one eternal God. He congratulated the Sangat on the occasion of Parkash Purab and also inspired them to follow the teachings of Guru Sahib.

During the Gurmat Samagam at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall, the Pracharak Dhadi, Kavishar Jathas recited the history of Guru and poets recited the Guru's praises through poems in the Kavi Darbar.

During this, Shiromani Committee member Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhayasi, General Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib S. Bhagwant Singh Dhangera, Superintendent S. Malkit Singh Beharwal, Manager S. Satnam Singh Riar, S. Rajinder Singh Ruby, S. Jaspal Singh Dhadde, Additional Manager S. Gurpreet Singh, S. Bikramjit Singh Jhangi, S. Gurtinderpal Singh Qadian, S. Jasbir Singh, S. Ravinder Singh along with a large number of devotees were present.
