NAWANSHAHR: The family of head constable Joginder Ram, who was posted in the 'Quick Response Team' of District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Police (Nawanshahr) and had died in March due to Covid-19, was here today given a grant of Rs 50 lakh through cheque by district police chief Alka Meena.
She said that head constable Joginder Ram No. 341 / SBSN had died on March 10, 2021 at Rajindra Hospital, Patiala due to Covid complications. She said that the Punjab government provides Rs. 50 lakh as a grant to the family of an employee who loses his life to Covid while performing duty. She said that Raj Kumar, son of late head constable Joginder Ram, has also been recruited as a constable in the police department today.
