Modi Govt Should Immediately Repeal Black Laws on Agriculture: Preneet Kaur

PATIALA: Expressing solidarity with the two farmer families of Village an in Patiala, who lost tractor and trolley during a road accident, on the way back to their village from Singhu Border Farmers' agitation, Member of Parliament and former External Affairs Minister, Mrs Preneet Kaur alongwith Senior Congress leader Harinderpal Singh Harry Mann,   handed over a new tractor and  trolley to the mothers of deceased farmer Labh Singh and Sarpanch Narinder Singh respectively.

She, especially thanked, Sonalika for providing a brand new tractor and Nabha Power Limited for arranging a new trolley to compensate the material loss of both the families on her request. Recalling the deceased member of the family, Mrs. Preneet Kaur said that it was not possible to bring back the deceased farmer, but as a part of the society, we all express our solidarity by supporting the family to continue their farm chores. Expressing sympathy with Balwinder Singh father of deceased young farmer, Gurpreet Singh Goldy, she assured that as per the wish of family, she have asked the district administration to chalk out a plan for constructing a community center in the sweet memory of young farmer.

Lator on, visiting to village Partapgarh (Tara Chand),   the Lok Sabha member, conveyed his condolences to Surinder Kaur, wife and Jaswinder Singh, son   of deceased farmer Jagir Singh.  She also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Satpal Singh, Davinder Singh son and grandson Jagtar Singh of Harbans Singh, a farmer of Mahmedpur Jattan, who had lost his life during Farmers protest at Bahadurgarh last October.  

Interacting with media, MP Preneet Kaur strongly demanded the immediate repeal of the black laws on agriculture and urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to consider the legitimate demands of the farmers.  She said that Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had always stood by the farmers in their struggle and would continue to support them till the end.

The Lok Sabha member said that today when every child of Punjab was supporting the farmers in their struggle and the voice is being raised in favour of the farmers not only in India but all over the world.  The voice of the farmers should be heard by abandoning the callous attitude being adopted by Modi govt. She said that the Union government should not waste time by holding meetings with the farmers but should repeal the black laws considering the legitimate demands of the farmers, because this is in the interest of the country and the farmers.

Mrs. Preneet Kaur reiterated that although human lives have no value but the Punjab Government still expresses its heartfelt sympathy to the farmers and pledges its financial assistance of Rs. 5-5 lakhs as well as all possible help. She also appealed to all the Punjabis that every person should contribute his/her due share in this struggle.  She said that the work of community center in the memory of young farmer Gurpreet Singh Goldy of village Sapheda would be started soon.
