AMRITSAR: To prevent irregularities in the salaries and service records of employees across various departments in the Municipal Corporation Amritsar, all records are being uploaded to the IHRMS Portal.
Today, on 2nd July 2025, Additional Commissioner Surinder Singh has issued written orders to all department heads and deputy heads stating that the salary for the month of June 2025 (payable in July 2025) shall only be processed through bills prepared via the IHRMS Portal. Only these bills will be approved.
It has been strictly instructed that if any employee's salary is processed without using the IHRMS Portal, it shall not be approved. Furthermore, if any clerk fails to prepare the salary bills via the IHRMS Portal, they will be charge-sheeted and a recommendation for their suspension will be made.
The Deputy Controller of Finance and Accounts has also been directed accordingly.
Additional Commissioner Surinder Singh said that complaints are regularly received from employees about their service records being lost, and discrepancies have also been found in salary bills prepared by clerks. In a similar past instance, a clerk was suspended. He emphasized that the government has directed that all service records of employees must be uploaded to the IHRMS Portal so that employees can view their own records online.
The Municipal Corporation had already issued instructions that the June (payable in July 2025) salary must be based only on bills prepared through the IHRMS Portal. All records have been uploaded on the portal, and officers have been instructed to approve only those bills prepared through the portal.
Any clerk who prepares salary bills without using the portal will face disciplinary action, including a charge sheet and report to higher authorities for suspension. He further stated that no negligence in this matter will be tolerated.
