KHATKAR KALA (SBS Nagar) : Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa and Senior Superintendent of Police Bhagirath Singh Meena on Monday held a detailed meeting with the officers and reviewed preparations for the state- level function on September 28 in Khatkar Kalan to mark 115th birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
They said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann would pay homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his father Kishan Singh in Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh Museum and Memorial, Khatkar Kalan.
Chairing a meeting here in Khatkar Kalan, Randhawa and Meena said that foolproof arrangements were made for making this mega event a success. They said that the district administration would evolve a foolproof mechanism to ensure smooth flow of traffic besides making proper seating arrangements for the people.
The DC and SSP minutely reviewed the arrangements being made for this event so that people can pay rich tributes to legendary Shaheed Bhagat Singh at his native village Khatkar Kalan smoothly. They said that wholehearted efforts would be made for smooth conduct of this event. They said that various committees headed by senior officers of the district administration were already at the ground for the past few days to smoothly organize the event.
The Deputy Commissioner and SSP said that the state-level function would be a humble and befitting tribute by the state government to the legendary freedom fighter. They said that we were indebted to the sacrifice and martyrdom of the greatest icon of the country who laid down his life at the age of 23. They said that the life and philosophy of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and other martyrs would always remain a source of inspiration for the people.
Famous Punjabi Singer Lakhwinder Wadali will pay tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh in a musical way at the function.
