AMRITSAR: Dedicated to the 300th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Bhai Tara Singh Wan, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee today launched a Khalsa March under the name 'Gursikha Eko Pyar Gurmita Puta Bhaiya' from Sri Akal Takht Sahib under the umbrella of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and led by the Panj Pyaras. This Khalsa March will pass through various stages and culminate on March 11 at Gurdwara Shaheed Bhai Tara Singh, Village Wan, District Tarn Taran.
After the Ardas at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, on the occasion of the departure of the Nagar Kirtan, the acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, adorned the holy Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in the Palki Sahib.
Speaking on the occasion, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj said that Shaheed Bhai Tara Singh Wan fought with other Shaheed Singhs and defeated the army of Zakaria. This history of the martyrs is a great inspiration for the nation. He said that the purpose of the Khalsa March is to propagate the history of Bhai Tara Singh Wan and other Shaheed Singhs among the Sangat along with Sikh propaganda.
He said that the representative organization of the Sikh Panth, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, with the support of the Sikh Sangat, is celebrating the 300th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Bhai Tara Singh Wan according to Panthic traditions, the events of which will be held from March 11 to 14 at Village Wan.
