KAPURTHALA: The vaccination campaign for the prevention of corona has received a major boost in Kapurthala district and so far more than 60, 000 people have been vaccinated.
Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Deepti Uppal said that the 'Outreach' program launched by the district administration to reach out to the people in remote areas has yielded fruitful results and all the primary health centers and health wellness centers in the district have been vaccinated at 84 places. Till yesterday a total of 56, 315 people were vaccinated , out of which 36, 113 were senior citizens.
The district administration is on the right track to identify and vaccinate people with serious illnesses and 6262 people with comorbid conditions have been vaccinated.
Deputy Commissioner also informed that in view of the increase in the arrival of wheat in the grain mandis, special camps would be set up in the next few days for vaccination.
