Hundred unidentified villagers booked for staging dharna on National Highway

NAKODAR: The Nakodar sadar police have booked more than hindered unidentified villagers for staging dharna on the Nakodar-Jalandhar National Highway.
The investigating officer (IO) Tirath Ram said that the accused staged a dharna on May 2 violated law and norms on Covid -19 pandemics.

IO said that a case under sections under section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) 269, 270 (negligent and malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life). 283(causing danger, obstruction or, injury in any public way or line of navigation) 149(every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the IPC section 51 of the Disaster Management Act and section 8-B of the National Highways Act 1956 has been registered against unidentified accused.
