Government Teachers' Union, Punjab to participate in ongoing farmers' protest at Delhi

NAWANSHAHR:A meeting of the presidium of Government Teachers' Union, Punjab was held under the chairmanship of state president Sukhwinder Singh Chahal. Disclosing this here today state general secretary Kuldeep Singh Daurka said that a contingent of the activists of Government Teachers' Union Punjab will leave Shambhu Border for Singhu Border in Delhi tomorrow at 4 pm to support the ongoing struggle of farmers against recently passed farm black laws.
The union would also join the protest being held by Punjab-UT Employees' and Pensioners' Joint Front on December 9 in Mohali, he said .
Besides, district meetings will be held from December 10 to 31 to hold the elections of the union by January 31.
He said that the executive committee of the union will soon hold a meeting with the Education Secretary, Punjab to resolve the issues of teachers including waiver of admission fees and funds of students, withdrawal of letter recommending implementation of central pay scales in Punjab and resolving of alleged victimizations of employees of the department.
