AMRITSAR: After being elected president of the newly formed Akali Dal, Giani Harpreet Singh sharply criticized the Punjab government’s new Land Pooling Policy, calling it “extremely dangerous” and a “conspiracy to change the demography of Punjab.”, he added.
Addressing the gathering, Singh said, “This policy is not aimed at developing Punjab’s lands but is a hidden plan to destroy the identity and population of Punjab. Fertile lands are being taken away and handed over to outsiders. Our population is declining, and this policy encourages non-Punjabis to settle here, threatening our very existence.”
He also targeted the Shiromani Akali Dal, accusing its leadership of neglecting Punjab’s interests. ,
