Family regused to cremate Shubhkaran Singh killed in firing by Haryana police
CHANDIGARH: The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (non-political) has accused Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann of dilly-dallying the registration of FIR against Haryana Police and threatening the family of deceased farmer Shubhkaran Singh for cremating him allegedly killed in firing by Haryana police.

Swaran Singh Pandher president of Kisan-Mazdoor Union said that Bhagwant Mann was insulting the martyr Shubhkaran Singh and not ready to register the FIR against guilty policemen of Haryana even after 14 hours of post mortem of Shubhkaran's dead body. He said that CM had promised to register FIR and hold an inquiry. Unfortunately CM was running away from giving justice to Shubhkaran.

The family of the Shubhkaran Singh has also refused to accept the compensation of Rs.1 crore offered by the Punjab government and demanded justice for their son. The family has demanded justice for their son. 21-year old Shubhkaran a resident of village Ballan in Bathinda district was hit with a bullet on back of his head. He was part of the protesting farmers at Khanauri border. It is alleged that Haryana police directly fired on the protesting farmers killing Shubkaran Singh.

The farmer unions said that they would not cremate Shubhkaran Singh untill FIR is lodged against Haryana police. Pandher said that farmers were not indulging any violence on the border. It was Haryana police that proviked farmers and attacked them by illegally entering Punjab territory. Seveal farmers were injured and their tractors were damaged. He said that Punjab police had failed to act though present on the spot. He said that FIR should have been registered immediately. Delay in registeration of FIR creates doubts in the mind of farmers.

On the other hand Haryana police has registered cases of attempt to murder against the farmers trying to cross the Haryana border to reach Delhi. The Haryana police had earlier issued order to book farmer leaders under National Security Act but the threat was withdrawn after 12 hours.
