GURDASPUR:Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur Mr. Muhammad Ishfaq has congratulated the residents of the district on the holy day of Janmashtami related to the birth anniversary of Lord Sri Krishna.
In his message on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Muhammad Ishfaq said that the holy festival of Janmashtami related to the birth anniversary of Lord Sri Krishna is celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious rituals across the country and it is an opportunity for people to lead a peaceful and harmonious life.
He said that Lord Sri Krishna was the messenger of peace, protector of religion and symbol of truth. His philosophy as enshrined in ``Srimad Bhagwat Gita'' is even more important in today's materialistic society.
In the present time, where on one hand there is a path to eternal peace, on the other hand their teachings are strengthening the bonds of love, peace, communal harmony and community.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the residents of the district to celebrate this auspicious day of Sri Krishna Janam Ashtami without caste, color, race and religion differences and he prayed to God to bring inner peace and happiness to the people. Invited to follow the teachings of Sri Krishna.
