AMRITSAR: The body of Gurjant Singh, son of Piara Singh, a 30-year-old youth belonging to village Bhangwan near Majitha in Amritsar district, was sent to his home through the free ambulance service of Sarbat Da Bhala Trust after it reached Sri Guru Ramdas International Airport Amritsar from Dubai late last night.
Sharing information in this regard, Dr. S.P. Singh Oberoi, a prominent businessman of Dubai and founder of Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust, said that like other youths, Gurjant was also working hard in Dubai for the better future of his family for the last 6 years.
He said that according to the family, he was admitted to the hospital due to poor health, where he died on July 24 due to a ruptured brain artery.
He said that late last night, the body of the deceased was received from Amritsar airport in the presence of the victim's family by the trust's Punjab President Sukhjinder Singh Heer, General Secretary Manpreet Sandhu Chamiari and District Vice President Harjinder Singh Heer and was sent to his house through the trust's 'free ambulance service'.
He said that the expenses incurred in sending Gurjant's body to India have been borne by his insurance company. Dr. Ubrai also said that Gurjant has left behind his elderly parents, his wife, two-year-old son and three sisters, who are crying and wailing.
He said that the Amritsar district team of the trust will soon inform the family about their financial condition and will also provide monthly pension to Gurjant's family as per their requirement.
It is noteworthy that under the patronage of Dr. Oberoi, the bodies of about 420 unfortunate youth have been delivered to their heirs so far and for the past few months, a free ambulance service has also been started to transport the bodies of the deceased to their homes from Amritsar airport.
Meanwhile, the deceased's brothers-in-law Jagdeep Singh, Sukhwinder Singh and Jugraj Singh, uncle Manjit Singh, maternal uncle Gurjit Singh, cousins Ajmer Singh, Baljinder Singh, Nishan Singh and Balwinder Singh, etc., present at the airport, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. S.P. Singh Oberoi for his great help during this difficult time.
