DC takes stock of projects worth Rs 113.13 Crore underway in Nakodar, Directs BDPO and EOS to ensure timely completion

NAKODAR:To streamline the implementation of projects initiated under various schemes in Nakodar sub-division, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today held marathon meetings with the officials in the town and directed them to strictly adhere to the timelines of the projects to facilitate the people.

The Deputy Commissioner, who spent more than five hours in Nakodar, asked all the officers to ensure that these projects worth Rs 113.13 crore have been sanctioned by the Punjab Government and all these developmental works needed to be carried out at the earliest for the welfare of the people. These development projects include uplifting of road infrastructure, sewage schemes, construction of new bypass, and many more.

Thori said that the district administration was duty-bound to serve the people perfectly so that they do not face any sort of inconvenience.

He said that these projects would prove game-changer to transform the lives and destiny of people residing in this town. He said that the main focus of the administration was that more and more development works were kicked off to make sure that residents of this town get benefitted.

Deputy Commissioner also asked the Sub Divisional Magistrate Gautam Jain to further expedite the pace of the works to ensure that people were facilitated at the earliest.

He said that the sole motive of the meeting was to further propel the pace of works and warned officials any sort of callousness in serving the people was unwanted and undesirable.

Deputy Commissioner also visited smart Haripur village and inspected various projects undertaken by the panchayat. He appreciated the effort of panchayat’s representatives and handed over a cheque of Rs one lakh to panchayat body.

Further, he also paid obeisance at Dera Baba Murad Shah and Dera Baba Lal Badshah in the sub-division.

Meanwhile, Thori also visited a food processing unit in Nakodar and solicited the wholehearted support of its representatives in ensuring jobs to the local youths.
