Congress wins 45 out of 50 wards of Kapurthala Municipal Corporation

KAPURTHALA: Following the counting of votes today , Congress candidates have won in 45 out of 50 wards while Shiromani Akali Dal's 3 and 2 Independents have emerged victorious in kapurthala Municipal corporation elections.

The Shiromani Akali Dal candidates from Ward No. 16, 28 and 48 emerged victorious while the Independent candidates from Ward No. 7 and 37 emerged victorious during the counting held at local Virsa Vihar at 9 am today. In all the other wards, the Congress candidates won.

It may be recalled that the Congress candidate from Ward No. 8 was already elected unopposed during scrutiny.

During the counting of votes, General Election Observer Mr. Vinay Bublani and District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Deepti Uppal visited the counting center and reviewed the counting process. They thanked the candidates and the polling staff for the peaceful completion of the counting process.

candidate from Ward No. 1 Veena won by securing 591votes, Ward No. 2 Manjinder Sahi 723 votes, Kulwant Kaur from Ward No. 3 with 1299 votes, Vinod Sood from Ward No. 4 853 votes, Manjit Kaur from Ward No. 5 have 498 votes, Jyoti Dhir 707 votes from Ward No. 6, Harminder Kaur Sondh Independent candidate from Ward No. 7 have 194 votes, Harjit Kaur from Ward No. 9 have 590 votes, Ward No. 10 Amjer Singh 953 votes, Ward No. 11 Narjit Kaur 548 votes, Manoj Kumar from Ward No. 12 with 188 votes, Pritpal Kaur 263 votes from Ward No. 13, Vikas Sarma 680 votes from Ward No. 14, Amandeep Kaur 445 votes from Ward No. 15 Ward No. 16 Pradeep Singh won with 250 votes, Ward No. 17 Usa Arora with 327 votes, Ward No. 18 Harjit Singh with 692 votes, Ward No. 19 Bimala Devi 498 votes, sandeep singh from Ward No. 20 won with 586 votes have won.

Ward No. 21 Zeenat have 260 votes, , Ward No. 22 Baljit Singh with 314 votes, Ward No. 23 Swetha Gupta with 802 votes, Ward No. 24 Harjit Kaur got 525 votes, Ward No. 25 Savita Chaudhary got 471 votes, Ward No. 26 Gris Kumar Bhasin got 614 votes, Ward No. 27 Narinder Kaur got 456 votes , Ward No. 28 Asok Kumar won by securing 505 votes.

, ward no. 30 Karan Mahajan got 807 votes, ward no. 31 Sarita got 344 votes, ward no. 32 Rahul Kumar got 560 votes, ward no. 33 Narinderjit Kaur got 708 votes, ward no. 34 Narinder Singh won having 650 votes, Ward No. 35 Bimala Devi with 239 votes, Ward No. 36 Jagtar Singh 641 votes, Ward No. 37 Narinder Kaur 216 votes, Ward No. 38 Kehar Singh 759 votes, Ward No. 39 Savita Sarma 610 votes, Ward No. 40 Thakur Das have 579 votes, Kulbir Kaur from Ward No. 41 with 321 votes emerges victorious.

Ward No. 42 kamaljeet kaur have 621 votes , Ward No. 43 Renu Bhandari with 658 votes, Harsimranjit Singh from Ward No. 44 won with 893 votes won the elevtion.

Candidate Shama from Ward No. 45 with 490 votes, Manjit Singh from Ward No. 46 with 640 votes , Ward No. 47 Gursaran Kaur with 278 votes, Ward No. 48 Haris Kumar won by securing 395 votes.

from Ward No. 49 Manjit Kaur with 593 votes and from Ward No. 50 Des Bandhu won by securing 746 votes.
