PUNJAB NEWS EXPRESS | January 28, 2021 11:05 AM

CHANDIGARH: The National President of All India Jatt Mahasabha and Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh and the Sikh leader & the President of Chandigarh State and National Delegate of the Mahasabha Rajinder Singh Badheri strongly condemn termed the incidents in the national capital Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day as a conspiracy hatched by bad elements only to defame the farmers and sabotage the peasant movement. Releasing a statement to the press here today, Mr. Badheri said that from the very beginning such elements have been wanting to somehow bring down the peasant movement which has been running successfully and systematically in complete peace till now.

Mr. Badheri alleged that the Government's intelligence agencies - the Intelligence Bureau and the RAW - could also be a ploy to derail the peasant movement. The farmer leader termed the baton charge on the farmers in Delhi and the commotion by some mischievous elements entering the Red Fort as the most unfortunate incident so far.

Mr. Badheri said that the atrocities committed by the Delhi Police on the farmers and the incidents of vandalism of tractors were also highly reprehensible. He said that the incidents at Red Fort were not good for the country and it had taken a heavy toll on the peasant movement. He said that insult to the tricolor could not be tolerated.
Mr. Badheri said the Delhi Police had at first kept the confusion about the routes and "deliberately kept the roadblocks soft" so that when the farmers would remove the barricades, force could be used against them. This is how the farmers were provoked and it was only natural that there would be further clashes.
Attack politically on the Modi Government. Badheri said that if the Modi government had wanted, the matter would have been resolved two months ago, the day the farmers started leaving their homes but due to the stubbornness of the BJP government such excuses were used. Even after 11 rounds of talks so far, the matter has not been deliberately settled.
