CHANDIGARH: The Bharti Kisan Union (Ekta-Ugrahan), one of the biggest farmer organisation of Punjab has announced to join the farmer's agitaion launched by Samyukt Kisan Morcha(non-political). The BKU(Rajewal) is also expected to throw its weight behind the agitation, making it tough for centre government to negotiate on farmer's demands.

Joginer Singh Ugrahan president of BKU(Ugrahan) said that though they had ideological differences with Sarwan Singh Pandher and Jagjit Singh Dallewal, but they are united for the bigger cause of farmers. He said that they had decided to join the agitation after seeing the atrocities of Haryana police on farmers from Punjab. He said that they would launch massive protests and it is warning for the centre government.

The BKU (Ekta-Ugrahan) today held blocked roads in 18 districts across the state and made the toll plazas free. The Ugrahan group has announced to gherao the homes of BJP leaders Sunil Jakhar, Capt Amarinder Singh and Kewal Dhillon on Feb 17 and 18 and hold dharnas on all toll plazas for two days, said Ugrahan and Sukhdev Singh Kokri general secretary of the Union.

Joginder Singh Ugrahan said that centre government was treating farmers like enemies of country and this cant be tolerated. Using drones and firing bullets on peaceful farmers is a criminal act of Haryana Police. He said that unlawful actions of Haryana police to crush the agitation are threat to democracy of India. He said that it would have been better if all farmer unions had come to consensus before launching agitation. He added that it is not yet late to show a joint strength. He said that the Samyukt Kisan Morcha had not yet given program for the agitation but BKU Ekta-Ugrahan will not let down the agitating farmers.

He said that centre had made promise to bring MSP guarantee law when the PM had announced to withdraw three agri laws due to year long agitation by Samyukt Kisan Morcha. He said that not even a single promise is fulfilled by centre. He alleged that Modi government was anti-farmer and working for the big corporates.
