Animal husbandry Minister Bhullar deputed headquarter veterinary offices in lumpy skin affected districts

CHANDIGARH:In order to tackle Lumpy Skin disease effectively, Punjab Animal Husbandry, Fisheries & Dairy Development Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar has ordered to depute veterinary officers posted at the head office in most-affected districts with immediate effect.

The Cabinet Minister, while giving information in this regard, said that in view of spread of disease and lack of staff, the Veterinary Officers posted at head office have been deputed in five districts of the state on temporary basis. Veterinary officer Dr. Preeti Singh will see the work at District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Dr. Karan Goyal at Fazilka, Dr. Harinder Singh at Barnala, Dr. Anil Sethi at Bathinda and Veterinary Officer Dr. Parampal Singh will look after the work at Sri Muktsar Sahib. They will monitor every situation in their concerned districts up till August 31 and make all possible efforts to prevent the disease, said the Minister, adding that these officers have been instructed to join their respective districts immediately.

The Cabinet Minister also issued written instructions to the District Deputy Directors asking them to intensify field visits including all veterinary institutions under their jurisdiction. The officials have also been asked to ensure that a written report pertaining to the number of villages, houses and affected animals covered during the visits sent to the head office by 3:00 PM daily. The Deputy Directors will spend half of the time of their duty in field.
