AMRITSAR: Giani Raghbir Singh jathedar of Akal Takht has warned the government and the administration that if there is any loss of life to Amritpal Singh and his family who are on hunger strike, then the consequences may be serious.

In a statement here today Jathedar Akal Takht said that it has been a week since the families of Bhai Amritpal Singh and his companions started their hunger strike, but so far no representative of the administration or the government has listened to them. Did not come till Bhai Amritpal SinghSaathi Singhs have been on a continuous hunger strike since February 16 in Dibrugarh Jail.

He said that this kind of biased and neglected behavior is not right and along with this, the feeling of alienation and discrimination in this country is getting stronger in the minds of Sikhs.

He said that Bhai Amritpal Singh and his companions did not commit any crime, as if they had only launched a campaign to motivate the youth to get rid of drugs and become Amritdharis.

He said that it was a big bullying by the government to catch them and detain them in Dibrugarh jail, hundreds of miles away from Punjab, but now the incidents of violence against their right to privacy even in the jail have raised concerns.
He said that the government should immediately listen to the hunger strike started by Bhai Amritpal Singh and his colleagues in Dibrugarh Jail and their families in Amritsar and preferably listen to the Sikh youths in Dibrugarh Jail. The sikh detainees should be transferred to Punjab Jail s immediately.

He also said that according to the audio of Daljit Singh Kalsi, who is detained in Dibrugarh Jail yesterday, which is going viral on social media, the Prison Department of Assam has sent a written letter to the Punjab Government that the the health of Sikh detainees is deteriorating due to the hunger strike, so according to their demand, these detainees should be transfer to Punjab jails.
