CHANDIGARH: Following revelations from the official Delhi Assembly records and the forensic report, the former Education Minister and MLA Pargat Singh has demanded an immediate and unconditional apology from Delhi's former Chief Minister Atishi Marlena to the Sikh community. He stated that it is now clear Atishi made derogatory remarks against the Sikh Gurus. No circumstance can justify insulting the Gurus.
With the truth of this matter now evident, Atishi's membership in the Delhi Assembly must be revoked immediately, and she should be removed from her position as Leader of the Opposition. Legal action must be initiated against her in this case.
Pargat Singh emphasized there is no room for denial or deflection in this matter. Atishi must tender an unconditional apology without delay. Anything less would insult Sikh sentiments and democratic accountability. She should have apologized to the people of Punjab long ago for disrespecting the Guru Sahiban, but she has failed to do so throughout this time.
He added that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab also attempted to mishandle this issue. It should have taken a decision respecting Sikh sentiments. Instead, the AAP government filed FIRs against political party leaders without waiting for the forensic report from the Delhi Assembly. Now, the allegation of video tampering has also been proven false.
