AMRITSAR: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, President of Shiromani Akali Dal (United). Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa has welcomed the merger of his party with Shiromani Akali Dal. Advocate Dhami has also appealed to other Akali-minded leaders that in view of sectarian politics and the current situation, they too should unite under the flag of Shiromani Akali Dal.
Advocate Dhami has appealed to the entire Sikh community and Punjabi community to strengthen their regional party Shiromani Akali Dal for the good of Punjab.
He said that Shiromani Akali Dal is the political party of this region which was established to protect the needs, problems and rights of the region. He said that the establishment of the Shiromani Akali Dal immediately after the establishment of the Shiromani Committee by the leaders of the nation was to fulfill the need of an organization in which the rights and religious and political concerns of the Punjabi people were protected.
Advocate Dhami said that the Shiromani Akali Dal has represented the region throughout its 100-year history and acted as per its founding mission. Today there is a great need for Punjabis to strengthen their regional party Shiromani Akali Dal and the sect leaders who have gone away due to any reason in the past need to think more carefully and seriously.
He said that the tendency of the people running the present government of Punjab to please their Delhi masters is taking the region to deep depths and if Punjab's own party Shiromani Akali Dal is strong then the interests of Punjab will be safe.
He appealed that every Akali-minded leader, worker and voter should gather under the flag of Shiromani Akali Dal for the rise of sectarian politics in view of the present times.

Mr. Sukhdev Singh Dhidsa and his son, former Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhidsa, for joining SAD and
congratulated the entire Akali leadership and said that with this step of Mr. Sukhdev Singh Dhedsa, Shiromani Akali Dal has got a lot of strength.
He said that now different Akali groups including the former president of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Bibi Jagir Kaur should also enter the mainstream of Shiromani Akali Dal and work for the betterment of the Khalsa Panth and Punjab.
He said that because of the Akali unity Congress is going to be held in Chauna and AAP should be prepared for a big defeat. a1W
