A child of Nepali origin living at Children's Home Rajpura has been referred to an NGO in Nepal

PATIALA: A young boy namely Prem Thapa of Nepali origin was found in Children Home, Rajpura during the inspection conducted by Sh. Rajinder Aggarwal, Ld. District & Sessions Judge, Patiala and Ms Parminder Kaur, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala. On inquiry, it was found that he had gained entry into India on a false belief that he shall meet his brother.

This fact was duly intimated to Ld. Member Secretary, Punjab Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar as the case was related to inter-country repatriation of child Prem Thapa to his home State. Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar took up the matter with State Government and Ministry of External Affairs, Northern Division, New Delhi for repatriation and restoration of the child to his home State. With the collaborative efforts of Sh. Rajinder Aggarwal, Ld. District & Sessions Judge, Patiala, Sh. Arun Gupta, Ld. Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, Dr. Mandeep Mittal, Additional Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, Sh. Kumar Amit, Deputy Commissioner, Patiala, Sh. Baldev Singh Sandhu, Chairman, Child Welfare Committee and Ms. Harpreet Kaur Sandhu, District Child Protection Officer, Patiala, the boy Prem Thapa was handed over to Sh. Naveen Joshi, representative of Kin Nepal, NGO at New Delhi for further repatriation to Nepal.
